PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference has announced its weekly award winners in baseball and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete
Jordan Paradis has been recognized. The junior earned Pitcher of the Week honors after an outstanding effort last week for the Corsairs in Florida.
Paradis, a left-handed pitcher from North Attleboro, Mass., helped the Corsairs to a 7-6 victory over Coe College on Saturday. He allowed just two runs (0 earned) on four hits over 5.0 innings pitched. Paradis struck out a career-high 15 batters, surrendering just three walks against 24 batters faced. His 15 strikeouts against the Koehawks currently ranks in a tie for sixth amongst Division III pitchers this season and is the most in a single game by any Little East pitcher.
Appearing in four games this season, including two as a starter, Paradis owns a 1-1 overall record. He has a 5.19 earned run average with opponents hitting just .176 against him. Paradis has allowed 11 runs (5 earned) on six hits, striking out a team and conference-high 22 batters.Â
UMass Dartmouth (5-8) is right back in action on Florida on Monday morning, taking on the University of Mount Saint Vincent at 9:30am at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale.
