ALLIANCE, Ohio – Backed by a five-run effort in the bottom of the fifth, the University of Mount Union rallied for a 5-2 win over UMass Dartmouth in game one of the 2026 NCAA Division III Super Regional. The Raiders move to 34-7, while the Corsairs are now 33-12.

Game two of the best of three series will be played at 4:27pm at the 23rd Street Field.

The Corsairs jumped out to the early lead as a single to right center from rookie first baseman Bre Fontes brought home senior third baseman RaeLynn Perregaux for the 1-0 lead. UMD made it a 2-0 advantage in the top of the fifth as junior catcher Olivia Silva belted a home run over the left field wall.

Mount Union battled back in the bottom of the fifth as a single through the right side by Grace Bates drove in a pair of runs to tie the game. The Raiders then saw Kaitlyn Culver reach on an error as two more came in on the play. The home team capped the scoring on a wild pitch as another run came across for the final margin.

The Corsairs had strong chances in the top of the sixth as a two-out single by senior center fielder Sydney Menz, coupled with a single to short by junior right fielder Lily Routhier put two on, but the Raiders were able to get a pop up for the final out.

UMD saw a single by junior left fielder Olivia Ali in the top of the seventh, but the home team once again shut down the visitor bats to secure the victory.

Perregaux went 2-for-4 in the game, recording her 200th career hit. She also added a run scored. Ali was 2-for-3, while Routhier was also 2-for-3. Fontes was 1-for-4 with an RBI, while Silva had a hit with a run scored and an RBI.
