Who can use the fitness center?
The fitness center can be used by UMass Dartmouth students, employees (including Chartwells), employee family members, and UMass-Dartmouth Alumni.
Is there a fee?
Yes, there are membership fees for those who are not current UMass-Dartmouth students and/or employees. There are also memberships fees during the summer break period (May 31st - August 31st) for all those wishing to use the facilities. We are a cash or check only facility.

Can I bring a guest?
We do offer guest passes for a $5 per visit fee. Guest must be at least 18 years of age. The guest pass program is intended for periodic visitation of friends and family. Due to the volume of UMass Dartmouth patrons using the fitness center we are unable to offer memberships to anyone who is not affiliated with the University. We are a cash or check only facility.
What are the hours?

What type of group exercise programs do you offer?
We offer a wide variety of group exercise programs during the Spring and Fall semesters - we currently do not offer summer group exercise classes. The class schedule can be found online here.
Is there someone there to help me design and workout and/or teach me how to use the machines?
There is always a staff member on hand to answer questions and teach proper use of our equipment. We offer an orientation session designed for beginners which utilizes the selectorized machine circuit. Appointments can only be made in person (no phone appointments) and are best accomplished early in the day when the center is less busy.
What do I need to sign up?
There is a registration form that has the rules and regulations, as well as a simple health questionnaire that must be filled out every year. You will also be assigned a Fitness Center Key Card. Please sign up in person at the Fitness Center front desk. A UMass Pass is required if you are signing up for the first time.
Is there a dress code?
Proper workout attire is required. For example; shorts or sweatpants, sneakers, and a t-shirt should be worn. Jeans, boots, and especially sandals (open toed shoes) are not allowed. Shirts must be worn at all times.
Are there lockers available?
Yes. There are lockers available in both changing rooms, along with cubbies and cell phone lockers in the hallway. We suggest bringing a lock if storing valuables in the changing rooms, as the Fitness Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. We do not hold personal items at the front desk. Bags of any kind are not allowed in the workout area.
What happens if I forget my Fitness Center Key Card?
Anyone who forgets their Fitness Center Key Card has the opportunity to be manually checked in to the system. The charge for this is $1 and is payable upon entry. If you do not have $1, you will not be allowed entry into the Fitness Center. We are a cash or check only facility
If you lose your Fitness Center Key Card, you will be charged $5 Dollars for a new one. We are a cash or check only facility
Will the fitness center be open when the university closes due to inclement weather?
All weather related decision will be made in the most timely manner possible. Please check the university homepage and/or the Fitness Center special announcement page during inclement weather for details regarding delayed openings and/or closures of the Fitness Center.
