Ryan McCormack enters his ninth season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with UMass Dartmouth, and will manage an experienced group of running backs which will include 2021 All-MASCAC two-headed machine of Luis Gonzalez and Marvens Jean. Gonzalez and Jean ended the 2021 season ranked second and third in rushing yards in the MASCAC. Marvens Jean ended the 2021 season ranked third in the nation in Division III in yards per carry averaging 7.57 yards per rush. The 2021 Corsair Offense was ranked first in the MASCAC, first in New England, and 26th in the nation in total offense. In 2021, UMass Dartmouth was the post season New England Bowl Champions defeating Alfred State 42-16 with an offensive production of 621 yards.

Since joining UMass Dartmouth, McCormack has played a pivotal role in recruiting several of the Corsairs' key players from around New England, New York, Louisiana, and Florida. 

Prior to his arrival, McCormack served as the defensive coordinator at Mt. Hope High School for the past two seasons, where his charges earned a berth in the Rhode Island State Playoffs in 2012 and 2013. McCormack also sandwiched a one-year stint at Rogers High School between two stretches at Middletown High. 
Between 2000 and 2006, McCormack was responsible for a variety of roles on the staff of his alma mater, Salve Regina. During his six seasons with the Seahawks, he served as a graduate assistant and recruiting coordinator before being promoted to defensive coordinator and defensive linemen coach. He mentored nine defensive all conference players, while also tutoring the Hal Chalmers Award recipient, honoring the top student-athlete in the New England Football Conference.

Previous to his 22 years of coaching experience, McCormack was a four-year member of the Salve Regina football team, where he played on the defensive line and handled the long-snapping duties. He helped the Seahawks capture four conference championships, three ECAC Bowl Championship appearances and was a 1998 ECAC Bowl Champion. In the 1997 season McCormack was part of the Salve Regina Defensive Line that created the number one overall leader in total Defense in the country. A 2000 graduate with a bachelor’s of arts degree in administration of justice represented the Division III student-athlete model, earning Magna Cum Laude honors. In the spring of 2003, he earned his master’s degree in administration of justice from Salve Regina.Â
