Brian Rudolph returns as an assistant coach at UMass Dartmouth for the 2022-23 season, and is a local Division I product who has competed on the highest levels of the sport.

A native of New Bedford, Mass., Rudolph was a standout player at New Bedford High School, where he remains the only player in school history to total more than 1,200 points, 600 assists and 200 steals.

Rudolph went on to be a four-year starter at Loyola University (Md.). While there, he played in 124 games (Ranked 1st in program history) in his career and was tabbed the MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year in 2008. He averaged 7.21 points and 4.25 assists on his career, and currently sits second in program history with 527 career assists. He graduated from Loyola in 2011 with Bachelor’s in Communications, Advertising and Public Relations.

Rudolph has been a member of the Cape Verde National Basketball Team, and participated in AfroBasket 2013 and AfroBasket 2015, which served as the qualifying rounds for the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2013, he averaged 11.9 points and 5.5 assists per game for Cape Verde.

Rudolph last coached at UMass Dartmouth in 2017. Since then he was the Head Varsity Coach at his alma mater New Bedford High School in 2017-18 were he finished with a record of 16-6 and a state tournament win in his lone season. Which is the best record the school has had in the last 12 years.

Currently Rudolph owns a private basketball training facility Next Level Factory Dartmouth and is the president of Leaders In Training LLC which provides basketball camps/clinics, summer basketball leagues, AAU basketball and mentorship for Southcoast youth. Rudolph also is an elementary school health teacher with New Bedford Public Schools and has two daughters Braylin (9) and Kai (2).
