Isaac Jenkins joins the UMass Dartmouth coaching staff for his first season in 2017-18.
Jenkins brings to the Corsairs basketball experience at a variety of levels as both a player and coach. Most recently, he was the head boys basketball coach at Brimmer and May School in Newton, Mass., and coached in Treviso, Italy with Adidas Euro Camp (2016) and Adidas Nations in Houston (2017).
From 2015-17, Jenkins served on staff for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas where he managed multiple facets of the NBA Summer League, including statistics, game operations and fan engagement. Additionally, he served as an assistant coach with the NBA G League’s Maine Red Claws, coordinating player development and operational functions such as statistics, scouting and transportation.
Jenkins was a two-year player at UMass Boston after two seasons of junior college play at Laramie County Community College (Wyo.) and Mass. Bay Community College. From 2010-12, he averaged 14.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and registered a career-high 39 points as a senior captain against Suffolk.
Before entering the coaching realm, Jenkins played professional basketball in Italy, his home country. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Italian from UMass Boston, and speaks four languages.
