Box Score GORHAM, Maine – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's field hockey team suffered its first Little East Conference setback, falling 1-0 at University of Southern Maine this afternoon at Hannaford Field.
The Corsairs (8-3, 4-1 LEC) held a substantial 19-5 advantage in shots and nearly four times as many penalty corner opportunities (23-6), but saw their three-game winning streak snapped.
Junior Amanda Kasbohm (York, Maine) thwarted the UMass Dartmouth offensive attack, registering eight of her 12 stops in the second half. Her win marks the third time this season that Kasbohm has reached double digits in saves.
Senior Jessica Boghosian (Belgrade, Maine) converted a penalty stroke in the 65th minute to provide the lone tally of the afternoon. It was her third goal of the season and second game-winner.
Sophomore Allison Burke (Franklin, Mass.) made one save in 70 minutes of action for the visitors.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, when the Corsairs host Framingham State University in Little East Conference action.
