Following a scoreless opening inning, Lasell took advantage of a couple fielding miscues and jumped out to a two run lead in the second.
In the fourth inning, the Lasers generated seven runs on six hits to add nine runs between them and UMass Dartmouth. MacLeod started the charge with a single down the leftfield line, which was followed by DeAngelis's triple into the right center gap. Gatchell found a hole through the right side to knock in DeAngelis and increase their lead to four. After Smith and Larghi reached base, Cobb pushed home her teammates when she found some grass in left field, giving Lasell a 6-0 advantage. With Larghi on second and Smith on first, LeBlanc ripped a three-run homer to left to cap the scoring run.
In the fourth and fifth, UMass Dartmouth had three players reach base, however were unable to put a run on the scoreboard. Junior Eileen Bergin dealt five scoreless innings for the Lasers, allowing only three hits and one walk, while fanning one.
