Box Score 2 KEENE, N.H. – The UMass Dartmouth Volleyball squad earned a tri-match split on Saturday, taking a 3-0 loss to open LEC play against Keene State before avenging last week's loss with a 3-0 victory over Lasell.

How it Happened
The Corsairs fell to Keene State in straight sets, but bookend the match with two quality performances. The second match was an all-around win for the Corsairs, who swept the Lasers after falling in a thrilling 3-2 match last weekend.
Keene St. 3, UMass Dartmouth 0
Freshman Anita Sengara (Vancouver, British Columbia) led the Corsair offense with eight kills in the first match, with four of them coming in the first set. Fellow freshman Taila Roberson (Norwalk, Conn.) was the next leading hitter with four kills.
Freshman libero Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.) was strong defensively in the UMass Dartmouth backcourt, posting 14 digs, half of which she posted in the first set.
On the other side of the net, Keene State had all cylinders firing. Sophomore libero Riley Bunker (Simi Valley, Calif.) was one of three Owls with double-digit digs, tallying 24 in the match. Junior Rachel Lamica (Malone, N.Y.) led both teams with 11 kills, while classmate Katie Cunningham (Nelsonville, N.Y.) recorded 32 assists.
UMass Dartmouth 3, Lasell 0
UMass Dartmouth turned the tide on the Lasers after last week's close match. Sengara collected double digits in both kills and assist for the third time this season, registering 10 kills and 15 digs. The outside hitter from Vancouver also chipped in a pair of service aces.
Senior Christina Spinazola (Medway, Mass.) conducted the Corsairs offense with 27 assists. Senior Kayla Kirby (Westport, Mass.) had a well-rounded day as she picked up five kills, three blocks and supported a .417 hitting percentage. Robertson had a superb second match, slamming eight kills on a .471 attack percentage.
Defensively, Sykora added 20 digs to her day total, and chipped in on the offensive side, leading the Corsairs and tying her career-high with four services aces.
Inside the Numbers
- The win to kick off the second match snapped a four-game losing skid for the Corsairs.
- Out of four wins for UMass Dartmouth on the season, three have been 3-0 sweeps.
- Roberson's .471 hitting percentage against the Lasers was her highest in a match so far this season.
- The Corsairs' .192 attack percentage versus Lasell was the highest in a week, since posting a .215 mark against the Lasers last Saturday.
- UMass Dartmouth doubled up Lasell on service aces and fired 31 kills to the Lasers' 25.
