How it Happened
UMass Dartmouth came out on fire from the opening whistle. Sophomore John Correia (Peabody, Mass.) found the back of the net just 60 seconds into the match. The Corsairs kept the pedal on the gas, when junior Austin Dias (Smithfield, R.I.) scored his third goal of the season off a redirection.
Senior Stephan Teixeira (Brockton, Mass.) would then extend the lead to 3-0 in the eighth minute of play as he received the feed from junior Haden Cordeiro (Dartmouth, Mass.), quickly putting the game out of reach.
The Corsairs held strong after the break. Less than 10 minutes into the second period, sophomore Junior Monteiro (Santiago, Cape Verde) slipped the throw in to junior Fabio Araujo (Brockton, Mass.) who rifled the ball into the bottom right corner of the net, making it 4-0.
Cordeiro would get his goal on the evening in the 66th minute when he was freed up by a through-ball from senior Matt Vidal (New Bedford, Mass.) and chipped it over the Falcons' keeper.
