SALEM, Mass. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth field hockey team was shutout, 4-0, on the road at Salem State Friday night in a Little East Conference (LEC) contest.
All seven of the Corsairs' (3-7, 2-2 LEC) shots were on goal, led by two from senior
Lydia Stormwind, while the Vikings (5-4, 3-2 LEC) finished with 19 shots and 15 on goal. Salem State had six penalty corners to UMass Dartmouth's five.
Freshman goalkeeper
Alyssa McDonough came away with four saves.
Junior twins Mikayla and Melanie Mason each scored two goals for Salem State, all of which were unassisted. Mikayla scored with 19:55 and 48:41 on the clock, while Melanie's goals came at the 53:47 and 54:51 marks.
The best opportunity for UMass Dartmouth came with 18:20 on the clock in the second quarter. Senior
Kylie Dias' shot was thwarted by a defensive save from freshman Alexia Hamilton.
UMass Dartmouth is on the road at West Conn on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. start.
