BOSTON, Mass. -Â UMass Boston scored early and often to come away with a 4-0 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team Wednesday night at James Cotter Field.
The Corsairs (5-4-2, 2-2-1 LEC) are now sixth in the Little East Conference standings with three league matches left, while the Beacons (10-2-1, 4-1-0 LEC) move up to the top spot in the standings.
UMass Boston's junior Vangjel Gjergo scored on the Beacons' first and second shots of the night in the ninth and 10th minutes. Gjergo's first goal was assisted by senior Christian Suvak, while the second helper was from senior Gerardo Castaneda.
Senior Niltin De Andrade made it a 3-0 game off an assist from Suvak in the 59th minute and sophomore Shaine Mullaney scored off a rebound in the 83rd minute to make it 4-0.
UMass Dartmouth is on the road at WestConn next at 3 p.m.
