DANBURY, Conn. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team fell to WestConn, 4-0, on the road Saturday afternoon. Westconn's sophomore Franz Muhaj scored a pair of goals for the home team.
The Corsairs fall to 5-5-2 and 2-3-1 in the LEC, while WestConn improves to 13-3 and a conference-best 5-1 record.
Muhaj netted his 10th and 11th goals of the season, but it was senior Afa Reyes who put WestConn in an early lead with his second marker of the year. Reyes scored off a feed from senior Ricardo Rodriguez in the 10th minute. The score stood through intermission.
Muhaj's goals came in the 63rd and 66th minutes as the Corsairs began to get quality chances in the second half with shots on goal by junior
John Aguiar and senior
Rony Morales.
WestConn's freshman Jordan Decosta tacked on his fifth goal of the season in the 73rd minute to finish things off.
UMass Dartmouth hosts Bridgewater State on Wednesday for a non-conference contest at 7 p.m.
