DARTMOUTH, Mass. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth field hockey team fell to Wellesley College, 2-0, in its final home regular season game Tuesday at Cressy Field.
The Corsairs (7-11) have one game left at Worcester State and are in good shape to make the upcoming Little East Conference Tournament. There is still much to be determined as far as seeding with many teams having two league games remaining.
The Blue (8-6) received both of their goals on the day from junior Kelley Gardner.
Wellesley fired six shots in the first quarter but were unable to find the back of the net. It took until 25:38 in the second when senior Julia Rappaport found Gardner for the first score. UMass Dartmouth got five shots off in the second, including three of its four on goal, but were stopped each time.
After a scoreless third, Gardner sent home her second of day off an assist from sophomore Cass Novello with 47:12 on the clock to finish things off.
UMass Dartmouth concludes the regular season with a big game at Worcester State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
