DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Five University of Massachusetts Dartmouth student-athletes were named to the 2021 Little East Conference Winter All-Academic teams this afternoon. The conference office honored a total of 58 student-athletes participating in the championship sports of men's and women's basketball.
Sophomore
John Martins Jr. (Taunton, Mass.) and junior
Drew Plante (Swansea, Mass.) represented the men's basketball program, while junior
Shaelyn Carreiro (Fall River, Mass.), classmate
Jordan Moretti (Johnston, R.I.), and sophomore
Sahiba Satara (Guttenberg, N.J.) garnered recognition for the women's basketball program. Carreiro and Moretti are making their second appearance on the winter academic list after earning a spot on the 2019-20 teams.
To be named the LEC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must be at least in sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester, and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.
