Mike Miezejeski Named Athletic Communications Director

Miezejeski Spent Two Years at Dartmouth College Before Arriving to UMass Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – UMass Dartmouth Director of Athletics, Amanda Van Voorhis, announced the hiring of Mike Miezejeski as the next Athletic Communications Director.

Miezejeski arrives from Division I Dartmouth College, where he served as an Athletic Communications Assistant for two years. While in Hanover, Miezejeski was the primary contact for women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, softball, rowing, sailing and squash.

"I want to thank Amanda, Associate Director of Athletics Jack Holleran, and the entire search committee for trusting me with being the next Athletic Communications Director at UMass Dartmouth," said Miezejeski. "I am excited to get started and help provide the Corsair student-athletes with the best experience possible and create content that everyone in the UMD community can be proud of."

Miezejeski spent the 2017-18 year at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Starting as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, he was quickly elevated to the interim director role, where he was the main contact for all 18 teams at Millsaps.

As the interim director, Miezejeski enhanced the social media presence of Millsaps athletics, implemented preseason and postseason video previews, created the original gameday program, and was the play-by-play voice for basketball and baseball.

Miezejeski has also made stops at Holy Cross, Jackson State University, Assumption University, Fitchburg State University, Wheaton College and Tougaloo College.

A native of Ivoryton, Connecticut, Miezejeski is no stranger to the Little East Conference. He is a 2017 graduate of Keene State College, where he was a student-worker in the Owls' Sports Information department for four years.

Miezejeski also served as the Director of Communications and Broadcasting for the Mystic Schooners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League for five summers. With the Schooners, he was the play-by-play voice of the team, wrote recaps for each game and handled the teams' social media accounts.

Miezejeski is an active member of the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
