PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â Playing for the first time in 11 days, The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team was defeated by Rhode Island College, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The Corsairs fall to 1-4-1 and 0-2 in the LEC, while the Anchorwomen improve to 2-8 and 1-2 in the conference.

Jess Costa finished with eight saves, while junior
Kat Hubbard came away with seven stops in the second half.

Sarah Vieira led UMassD with two shots on goal, while senior
Kait Bernier, and freshmen
Amanda Renaux and
Erica Reed all had one shot on goal.
RIC capitalized on its ninth shot of the day in the 30th minute. Freshman Serena Forte scored her third goal of the season off an assist from classmate Reagan Kerecz.Â
The Corsairs defense fended off six more shots to send the game into halftime with a 1-0 deficit. The Anchorwomen scored their second goal when junior Audra Garcia found the back of the net in the 68th minute.
RIC's final goal of the night came in the 90th minute with 37 seconds remaining. Forte scored off a double assist from freshman Marissa Ruzzano and junior Alexandra Amore.
UMass Dartmouth is home on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game against Southern Maine.
