DARTMOUTH, Mass. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with Southern Maine Saturday afternoon on Cressy Field.
The Corsairs (0-5-4, 0-2-1 LEC) tallied 10 shots with five on goal, while the Huskies (2-4-3, 0-3-1 LEC) had 10 shots as well with two on net. Both sides finished with four corner kicks. Junior Goalkeeper
Jack Waterhouse came away with two saves in the contest.
Waterhouse was tested early in the eighth minute, but made his first save to keep the game scoreless. Juniors
Joey Paiva and
Brayan Rivas Martinez each let loose a shot on goal in the first half, but both were saved by the Southern Maine keeper. Waterhouse stopped his second shot in the final minute of the first half.
Taking shots on goal in the second half were sophomore
Lucas Passaro, Paiva and junior
Brandon Araujo, but to no avail. The Corsairs had a corner kick in the final minute, but the Huskies defense was able to stop the threat.
UMass Dartmouth is home on Tuesday night against Mass. Maritime for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
