Jordana Golove netted her first two-career goals as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team suffered a 6-2 loss at Southern Maine on Saturday.
The Corsairs fall to 3-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the Little East Conference (LEC), while the Huskies stay in first place with an 8-1-0 record and 4-0-0 in the LEC. Southern Maine had five different scorers for its six goals.
The Huskies scored four goals in the first half. Junior Catriona Gould first scored from graduate student Gaby Panagakos in the 15th minute, sophomore Julia McKenna then sent one home from freshman Ciera Hill in the 23rd minute, Hill found the back of the net six seconds later and sophomore Aly Veilleux made it 4-0 in the 25th minute.
Golove cut the deficit in half early in the second half with a pair of goals in the 49th and 50th minutes. Southern Maine then added to its lead with goals by Gould in the 59th minute and grad student Ciera Berthiaume from Panagakos to finish it off in the 80th minute.
UMass Dartmouth is on the road next at Bridgewater State for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Tuesday.
