Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

UMass Dartmouth Falls at Home to Western Connecticut

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team fell at home, 4-0, to Western Connecticut Saturday afternoon.

The Corsairs fall to 0-8-5 and 0-5-1 in the Little East Conference (LEC), while the nationally ranked Wolves improve to 15-0-1 and 6-0-0 in the conference.

WestConn scored twice in the first half and two more times in the second half.

The Wolves struck first in the third minute when senior Payton Blynn scored from junior Kent Eannarino. It only took until the 15th minute for junior Franz Muhaj to make it a 2-0 game off an assist from Blynn on a corner kick.

UMass Dartmouth's defense stepped up and did not allow a goal for the remainder of the half.

Freshman Jake Provoyeur had the best opportunity for the Corsairs in the 47th minute. Provoyeur looked to have a wide open net, but a WestConn defender raced in to kick the ball away just before it crossed the line.

WestConn's freshman Erik Lorent scored on a penalty kick in the 54th minute. The final goal of the day came from Blynn in the 61st minute to finish things off.

UMass Dartmouth is at Bridgewater State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
