Corsairs Blanked at Roger Williams

Hannah Trombly finished with 10 saves

BRISTOL, R.I. - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth field hockey team fell, 5-0, at Roger Williams Monday night in non-conference action.

The Corsairs drop to 2-7 on the year, while the Hawks improve to 6-3. Sophomore goalie Hannah Trombly tallied 10 saves in the contest.

Roger Williams scored 31 seconds into the game on a goal by junior Kelly Doherty. The Hawks' second tally of the contest came at the 2:34 mark from freshman Chelsea King assisted by sophomore Sarah Carney.

Junior Maggie McCafferty had the best opportunity for the Corsairs to score late in the first quarter on a penalty corner.

Senior Carolyn Bauman tacked on the third goal for Roger Williams in the second quarter off an assist from Carney. Senior Morgan Foley from sophomore Ella Wayras made it 4-0 in the third and freshman Kailey Daddona from sophomore Lauren Costanzo finished it off with the final goal of the night.

UMass Dartmouth hosts Western Connecticut on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
