Corsairs Compete on Day One of LEC Championships

WELLESLEY, Mass. - Day one of the Little East Conference (LEC) swimming & diving championships is in the books for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth swimming & diving team.

The best finish of the day came from the 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Anya Wallace, senior Olivia Shaw, sophomore Rachel Kerrigan and freshman Piper Dienst. The group crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 1:48.55, which is a seven-second time drop from their previous meet.

Dienst also finished eighth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:30.81). Checking in at tenth in their races were Wallce in the 500-yard freestyle (5:57.61) and Kerrigan in the 200-yard backstroke (2:30.66). Sophomore Natalia Agrelo was 14th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:39.26) and Shaw was 15th in the 50-yard breaststroke (38.81).

The second day of the LEC Championships continues Monday at the Boston Sports Institute.
