NEW LONDON, Conn. -Â The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 defeat at Connecticut College Friday afternoon at Freeman Field.
Five players found the back of the net for the Camels (4-1-1), who scored four goals in the first half. The Corsairs (3-4) outshot Conn College 6-3 and 5-1 on goal in the second half.
Conn College got on the scoreboard just 90 seconds into the match on a goal by senior Mya Johnson off an assist from freshman Clare Mulvihill.
Later in the half, the Camels added a pair of long-range goals within a 3:34 span. Freshman Margot Kuller put a left-footed shot on frame from 25 yards out that just ducked under the crossbar in the 27th minute. Freshman Camille Cortes then followed suit in the 30th minute with a score from 30 yards away.
Conn College tacked on another goal in the 40th minute when freshman Indi Guckert scored to extend the lead to 4-0 at halftime.
The lone goal of the second half came in the 65th minute off the head of freshman Amanda Behre from Guckert.
The Corsairs' offense came to life in the second half, producing five shots on goal and six total. Scoring opportunities came from sophomore
Kaitlyn Nguyen twice, and the freshmen trio ofÂ
Alannah Paiva,
Jordana Golove and
Veronica Bock.

Kat Hubbard and sophomore
Madison Durkin each played a half in goal for the Corsairs.
UMass Dartmouth returns to play at home against Rhode Island College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
