Women's Soccer Tripped Up at Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. – Despite a strong defensive showing in the second half, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Roger Williams University on the back of two first half scores on Tuesday. The Corsairs dip to 2-5-3 overall, while the Hawks improve to 5-5-3 overall.

The Corsairs went into the second half trailing 2-0, thanks to back-to-back Hawks' goals in the 20th and 25th minutes. The goal scorers for Roger Williams were both freshman, in Mya D'Antonio and Arianna Torres. The Corsairs' defense held strong in the second half, but were unable to generate any offense as they fell, 2-0 to the Hawks.

UMass Dartmouth attempted two shots through the 90 minutes, from freshman Amanda Thompson and junior Jillian Swass. UMass Dartmouth's freshman goalkeeper Grace Conti played the full 90 minutes in net, stopping four shots and allowed two past her.

UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team will host the Western Connecticut Wolves on Saturday, October 7, during UMass Dartmouth's Blue & Gold Weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 12PM on Cressy Field.
