BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's swimming & diving team were edged by Bridgewater State University on Friday evening by a final score of 201-57 on the road. The Corsairs dropped to a 0-4 overall record on the season while the Bears picked up their first win of the year.
Junio
Kylie Winer had a strong performance after capturing a pair of first place finishes for the Corsairs. Winer was the top swimmer in the 1,000-yard freestyle event clocking in at 12:26.20. She later finished first overall again for UMass Dartmouth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2.36.72. Winer also competed in the 200-yard breaststroke posting a 2:49.08, good for second overall.
In the 500-yard freestyle event, junior
Isabella Gerardi secured a second-place finish with a time of 6:17.73. She also claimed second overall in the 200-yard individual medley posting a 2:48.21 in the event.
Graduate student
Savannah Platt took second place in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 34.86. She also competed in both the 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle events for UMass Dartmouth.
First year
Emiyah Setalsingh secured second place for the Corsairs in the 50-yard backstroke clocking in at 35.10. She also competed in the 200-yard backstroke earning third overall with a time of 2:47.46.
Sophomore
Sam King made her season debut capturing her best finish of the meet in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 30.07, for third overall. King also competed in the 50-yard backstroke earning a fourth-place finish with a time of 37.78.
In the relay events, UMass Dartmouth competed in the 200-yard medley relay posting a time of 2:18.82 to claim third overall in the event.
Corsairs return to Bridgewater State for their next meet on Saturday, Dec. 7 slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. from the Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.
