WESTON, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's swimming & diving team competed in their second dual meet of the season hosted by Regis College along with the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine. The Pride outpaced the Corsairs by a 164-69 margin while the Monks posted a 115-65 win to earn their second victory of the season.
Junior
Isabella Gerardi claimed the only first-place finish at the meet for the Corsairs in 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:12.67. She also competed in the 50-yard butterfly event clocking in at 31.73, good for a second-place finish, as well as the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 13:04.64.
Junior
Kylie Winer had a strong performance for the Corsairs after securing a second-place finish in three events. Winer opened the meet by posting a 2:15.42 in the 200-yard freestyle before going on to take second overall in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:02.32. She concluded the day by competing in the 500-yard freestyle claiming second place with a time of 6:12.00.
In the 50-yard backstroke, graduate student
Savannah Platt posted a 36.50 to collect third place in the event. Platt also competed in the 100-yard individual medley clocking in a 1:22.73, good for fourth overall.
First year
Emiyah Setalsingh had two third-place performances for UMass Dartmouth in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. She clocked in at 29.75 in the freestyle event followed by a 1:14.43 performance in the 100-yard backstroke. Setalsingh also competed in the 50-yard butterfly posting a time of 33.82 to claim fourth overall.
In the relay events, the Corsairs collected captured a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.22.
"We had great energy from start to finish," said head coach
Michael Kroll. "We had several season best times and improvements from our first meet. We are continuing to improve on the small details of our races that will lead to big improvements."
UMass Dartmouth is back in action on Friday, Nov. 15 competing at Bridgewater State University. The meet is slated for 5:00 p.m. start time from the Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.
