DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team cruised past Salem State University, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon to secure their first win of the 2024 campaign. The Corsairs improve to 1-0-1 on the season with the victory over the Vikings who drop to a 0-0-2 overall record.

Kaitlyn Nguyen passed the ball to an open Sheehan who rocketed a shot into the top left shelf to make it 2-0 Corsairs. The Vikings recorded two late shots in the half featuring another save by Conti to keep the visitors off the scoreboard heading into the break.
UMass Dartmouth came out strong to start the second half ripping six shots in the opening five minutes forcing two stops from Vikings goalkeeper Lauren Wilson. First year
Emma Murphy sent in a deep pass to Aguiar making a run down the middle of the field. Aguiar slipped by Wilson and calmly buried the ball into the back of the net to give the home team a commanding 3-0 lead.
UMass Dartmouth continued to pressure Salem's defense by producing seven shot attempts but cemented their first win of the season over Salem State by a final score of 3-0.
Aguiar led the offense for the Corsairs after netting her first pair of collegiate goals. Sheehan also tallied her first career score for UMass Dartmouth in the win. First year
Lilly Jaeger, Murphy and Nguyen each recorded an assist apiece, the first collegiate assist for Jaeger and Murphy.
Conti earned her first win in net of the season for UMass Dartmouth after making three saves. It also marks her seventh career shutout before first year
Emma Juelis finished the last 25 minutes of the game.
UMass Dartmouth is on the road next taking on Suffolk University on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The non-conference match is set for a 7:00 pm kickoff in Boston, Mass.
