Box Score DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The UMass Dartmouth women's volleyball team posted a 3-1 (25-23, 24-26, 25-18, 25-16) non-conference win over Simmons University on Thursday in the Tripp Athletic Center Gym. The Corsairs improve to 8-3 on the season, while the Sharks are now 2-8 overall.

Olivia Seutter. The visiting Sharks crept back into the match, posting a 10-0 run to close the gap to 14-13 with several attacking errors against the home team, coupled with a pair of kills from Alicia Beatty.
UMass Dartmouth continued to hold advantage though, opening out a 21-17 lead on an ace from sophomore outside hitter
Allison Pate, but Simmons battled back as kills from Iliana Diaz and Meghan Doxsee, along with an ace from Carolina Rodriguez, helped pull the visitors out to a 23-22 lead. The Corsairs tied things back up soon after and utilized a kill from Wade and a Simmons attacking error to close out the set victory.
Second set action saw the Corsairs open a lead once again, but the Sharks countered, keeping things close before taking a 9-8 lead on a kill from Kate Petrosso. The two squads continued to keep the score within a point or tied until back-to-back kills from Hannah Pridgeon pushed it to a 14-11 margin.

Skye Peters, but a 7-0 run to end the match saw Simmons battle from behind for the set win, aided by a number of Corsairs errors, an ace from Beatty and a kill from Pridgeon.
In the third set, it remained close until kills from Wade and Pate, along with three Wade service aces, pushed the home team to a 10-4 advantage. The Sharks rebounded, making it a 15-11 game on a kill from Doxsee, but back-to-back service aces from junior setter
Sabrina Bordone, along with consecutive kills from senior opposite
Chelsea Sanker pushed the Corsairs to set point (24-16). Simmons was able to counter with two more points, but UMassD capitalized on an error to win the frame.
Fourth set action remained tight at the start once again, but a 10-0 run for the Corsairs, which included kills from Seutter and Wade, helped the home team to a 17-8 lead. A strike from Zoe Chatterton helped Simmons back into the match, down by five (18-13), but UMass Dartmouth saw Seutter, Sanker, Wade and Pate all throw down kills to conclude the match.
UMass Dartmouth was paced by Seutter, who finished with 15 kills with three block assists. Wade posted 10 kills with five service aces, two block assists and five digs, while Pate also had 10 kills to go along with three aces and 20 digs. Junior defensive specialist
Emily Pogorelec added 25 digs with three assists, while Peters posted 25 assists with eight digs and four aces.
Simmons was led by 14 kills from Chatterton, who also had three block assists and five digs. Pridgeon had 12 kills with 15 digs and two block assists, while Doxsee had five kills, three block solos and six block assists. Carolina Rodriguez had 25 digs as Beatty added two aces, 25 assists and nine digs.
The Corsairs return to action on Saturday, traveling to Bristol, R.I., for a tri-match at Roger Williams University. UMass Dartmouth faces the host Hawks at 11am, followed by a 1pm tilt against Framingham State.
