GORHAM, Maine – The UMass Dartmouth women's soccer team were blanked by the University of Southern Maine during the opening game of Little East Conference (LEC) play on Saturday afternoon. The Corsairs are 0-1 in league play and 3-4-2 overall with today's results while the Huskies improved to a 2-0 conference record and 6-2-1 on the year.

Tori Russo posted another two stops for the Corsairs before Southern Maine doubled their advantage to make it 2-0 approaching the midway point of the first half.

Ashlyn Rogers fired a late shot on-goal for UMass Dartmouth that Huskies goalkeeper Hunter Stonebraker saved to preserve Southern Maine's four-goal advantage heading into the break.
The hosts wasted no time at the start of the second half registering their fifth goal of the afternoon thanks to a score by Ashley Sabatino. A few minutes later, Catriona Gould notched the sixth goal for Southern Maine at the 53
rd minute to make it 6-0 Huskies.

The Huskies outshot the Corsairs by a 28-9 margin while also holding a 16-3 advantage in shots on-goal. Boths teams were even with three corner kicks apiece in the contest.

The Huskies saw five different goal scorers with Gould notching a brace and an assist for Southern Maine in the win. Stonebraker secured the win after registering two saves while Lucy McLaughlin posted one stop for the Huskies.
UMass Dartmouth continue conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at UMass Boston. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 pm from Boston, Mass.
