WESTFIELD, Mass. - The UMass Dartmouth men's cross country team competed at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday, hosted at Stanley Park by Westfield State University. The Corsairs finished eighth overall in a field of 13 teams, paced by several efforts inside the Top-50 in a field of 193 competitors.
UMass Dartmouth was led by rookie
Stevie MacLennan, who finished 42nd overall with a time of 28:20.6. Classmate
William Johnson was close behind, earning 46th overall with a time of 28:29.5, while sophomore
Jackson Caron was 54th on the afternoon with a mark of 28:42.9. Rookie
Quinton McStowe posted 59th overall in 28:51.3, while junior
Joseph Stanton took 61st with a mark of 28:53.0. Sophomore
Michael Gemelli was 62nd on the afternoon in 28:53.9, as senior
Colin Ozturk rounded out the top seven for team finishers in 68th with a time of 29:04.4.
Rookie
Sean Benvissuto posted 78th overall with a time of 29:31.2, while senior captain
James Christie was 82nd in 29:50.9. Junior
Ben Bairos finished with a time of 30:08.8 for 90th overall, while sophomore
Jack Barbato crossed in a time of 30:40.6 for 104th overall. Sophomore
Connor Bruni notched a time of 30:40.6 as well, while junior
Zack Shute recorded a mark of 30:40.7 as the two were 105th and 106th.Â
Junior
Tyler Scanlon had a time of 30:53.3 for 111th, while rookie
Jacob Marques posted a time of 32:32.0 for 143rd. Sophomore
Isaac Toweh notched a time of 33:23.7 as senior
Cooper Blatz rounded out the efforts with a time of 33:29.9 for 153rd.
The Corsairs return to action next Saturday, traveling to New London, Conn., for the Connecticut College Invitational.Â
