NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its academic honors for the 2025 season and junior
Cameron Thompson was named to the Division III All-Academic Team.
Thompson, who hails from Sherborn, Mass., competed in eight meets for the Corsairs in 2025. Among his top finishes was at the Suffolk Short Course Classic where he placed 14th overall in the 5k with a collegiate-best time of 16:01.8. He went on to eclipse a collegiate-best time of 24:51.4 to earn 12th overall in the 8k at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational and was 86th overall in the 8k with a time of 25:19.6 at the Conn College Invitational.
The team captain went on to place third overall in the 8k at the Little East Championships, recording a time of 25:24.0. That effort garnered Thompson a second straight All-Little East First Team honor. The outstanding season continued at the NCAA East Regional Championships as Thompson posted 15th overall in the 8k with a time of 25:04.3 to earn himself an At-Large spot in the NCAA Division III National Championships.
Thompson, who garnered USTFCCCA All-Region honors for his performance at Regionals, was the first Corsair to represent UMass Dartmouth at Nationals since the 2003 season. He placed 236th overall with a time of 26:18.9.
