HOPKINTON, N.H. – Senior
Cameron Thompson of the UMass Dartmouth men's cross country team paced the Corsairs on Saturday at the 2025 NCAA Division III East Regionals held at the Hopkinton Fair Grounds. The Corsairs finished 10
th overall as a squad out 32 total teams competing in the East Regionals with 338 points.
Thompson captured 15th overall out of 216 competitors with a time of 25:05 to became the first student-athlete in program history since 2003 to qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship. He collected USTFCCCA All-Region honors for finishing in the top-35 as well as All-New England distinction for checking in the top-20 finishers at the regional meet.
Junior
Joseph Stanton placed 63
rd overall for UMass Dartmouth, marking his best finish at the East Regionals with a time of 26:33. Close behind him was sophomore
Connor Bruni finishing with a time of 27:06, good for 78
th overall.
Sophomore
Jack Barbato checked in at 90
th overall after clocking in 27:21 for the Corsairs. Senior
Ethan Sylvia followed shortly with his 93
rd place finish, cracking the top-100 for the first time at the East Regionals in his career, with a time of 27:24.
Rounding out for the Corsairs was junior
Zack Shute finishing in 115
th place with a time of 27:45 before junior
Colin Ozturk posted an 8k time of 27:48 to secure 118
th place.
The 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country selection for the national championship is scheduled to be released on Sunday afternoon.
