WELLESLEY, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's swimming team kicked off the 2025 Little East Conference (LEC) Swimming & Diving Championships from the Boston Sports Institute on Friday. The Corsairs concluded the first day of the competition with 52 total points through 18 events.
Junior
Kylie Winer secured a spot in the 500-yard freestyle finals for UMass Dartmouth and went on to place seventh overall with a time of 5:43.23. Winer also finished second overall in the first heat of the 200-yard freestyle prelims clocking in at 2:10.38.
Sophomore
Skye Peters competed in the 50-yard freestyle consolation final finishing 13
th overall for UMass Dartmouth after posting a time of 27.12. In the 100-yard backstroke prelims, Peters checked in fourth in the opening heat with a time of 1:09.12. First year
Emiyah Setalsingh also competed in the 100-yard backstroke prelims finishing just behind Peters with a time of 1:12.96.
During the prelims for the 400-yard individual medley, junior
Isabella Gerardi clocked in at 5:36.21 in the second heat to finish in fifth place. Graduate student
Savannah Platt also competed in the 50-yard butterfly prelims for the Corsairs posting a time of 34.49 in the opening heat. In the 50-yard butterfly prelims, sophomore
Sam King finished with a time of 35.36 in the third heat.
In the relay events, UMass Dartmouth placed eighth as a team in the 400-yard individual medley clocking in at 4:37.40. The Corsairs also took tenth overall with a time of 1:57.45 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Corsairs return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 15 for the second day of the Little East Championship.
