DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Juniors
Isabella Gerardi and
Kylie Winer of the UMass Dartmouth women's swimming team were each named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for their efforts on the court and in the classroom. Gerardi and Winer both captured their second consecutive Academic All-District honor.
Gerardi was a top performer for the Corsairs throughout the 2024-25 season. She posted two personal bests during the year in both the 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle. At the Bridgewater State University Invitational on Dec. 7, Gerardi produced her first personal best in the 500-yard freestyle after clocking in at 6:12.00, good for a first-place finish. She then finished with a time of 2:38.73 in the 200-yard butterfly for a career-best at the 2025 Little East Conference Championship on Feb. 16. Her efforts in the 200-yard butterfly earned her ninth-place finish in the championship finals.
The Seekonk native collected four first place finishes in the season highlighted by a pair of top finishes at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Feb. 1 against Rhode Island College. She clocked in at 21:52.91 in the 1,650-yard freestyle before posting a 2:45.84 time in the 200-yard butterfly for her second top finish of the meet. Gerardi also was named to the Little East Winter All-Academic Team for the second time in her career.
Winer was also a strong competitor for UMass Dartmouth in her junior season after recording five personal bests during the year. She captured her first personal best performance in the 1,000-yard freestyle at Bridgewater State on Nov. 15 with a time of 12:26.20. She then captured two personal bests at the Bridgewater State Invitational on Dec. 7 in both the 50-yard freestyle (28.04) and 100-yard freestyle (59.89). Winer also recorded two career bests at the UMass Dartmouth Invite on Feb. 1 after posting a 36.49 in the 50-yard breaststroke and a 1:17.37 in the 100-yard breaststroke event.
Throughout the 2024-25 season, Winer led the team with nine total first place finishes for the Corsairs. On Jan. 9 at the Plymouth State Invite, the Derry native swept the competition after winning all four events she competed in. Winer also had a strong showing for UMass Dartmouth at the 2025 Little East Championships. She posted a season best time of 2:07.34 in the 200-yard freestyle finals to secure seventh place finish. Winer also collected eighth overall in the 200-yard breaststroke finals with a time of 2:43.27.
