Women's Swimming Posts Solid Day 2 at LEC Championships

Three Corsairs advance to finals on Saturday

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Day two of action at the Little East Championships is in the books and UMass Dartmouth swimming had a number of outstanding efforts at the Boston Sports Institute. The Corsairs saw three student-athletes advance to finals, including junior Kylie Winer in the Championship Final of the 200-yard freestyle.

Through two days of action, the Corsairs currently sit in 11th place with 115 points.

UMass Dartmouth opened the evening with the 200-yard Medley Relay as rookie Emiyah Setalsingh, juniors Isabella Gerardi and Kylie Winer, along with sophomore Sam King combined to place 11th  overall with a time of 2:06.09.
 
Gerardi had a solid effort, competing in the Consolation Final of the 400-yard Individual Medley. She posted a preliminary time of 5:25.62 in the morning to secure her spot and went on to record a time of 5:22.27 to win the Consolation Final and place ninth overall.
 
Winer – who posted a time of 2:07.69 in the morning prelims to secure a spot in the evening final – finished seventh overall in the Championship Final with a time of 2:07.34.
 
Sophomore Skye Peters took part in the 100-yard backstroke Consolation Finals. After notching a preliminary time of 1:06.55 in the morning to advance, Peters recorded a time of 1:06.98 taking third in the Consolation Final and 11th overall in the event.
 
The Corsairs concluded the night in the 800-yard freestyle relay as Winer, Peters, Setalsingh and Gerardi powered their way to seventh overall with a time of 9:06.51.
 
Also in action on Saturday was King, who swam to 22nd overall in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 32.49. Graduate student Savannah Platt was also in the 50-fly, finishing 25th overall with a time of 33.33. Setalsingh also competed in the 100-back, finishing 22nd overall with a time of 1:12.84
 
The Corsairs conclude action at the LEC Championships on Sunday with the final seven events of the meet. UMD will see all six swimmers competing in multiple events to close out the 2025 Championship. Preliminaries get underway at 10am with finals beginning at 5pm.
