Stewart Named to MASCAC All-Conference First Team

Junior winger tabbed to First Team after outstanding season

WESTFIELD, Mass. -  The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) has announced its year-end honors and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete Tyler Stewart has been recognized. The junior forward was named to the All-Conference First Team after an outstanding season that saw him lead the team in nearly every offensive category.
 
Stewart, a junior leftwing from Pittsburgh, Pa., played in all 26 games for the Corsairs this season. He led the team in scoring with 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points. Of his 15 goals, six came on the power play, while two were game winners. Stewart posted a team-high 125 shots this season as well.
 
Highlighting his season was a four-assist effort in a 6-3 victory over Fitchburg State at the Codfish Bowl Tournament. He also notched the game-winning goal and two assists in a 3-2 win at Anna Maria, while recording two goals – including one on the power play – with three assists in a 6-4 victory over Framingham State.
 
Stewart – a 2024-25 Joe Concannon Award semifinalist – currently ranks second in the MASCAC in points. He is also third in goals and assists among the league's best. Additionally, Stewart leads the conference in overall shots, ranks third in power play goals and is ninth in game-winning tallies. 
 
During the 2023-24 season, Stewart ranked third on the team with 28 points on a squad-best 17 goals and 11 assists over 27 games played. He recorded a team-high 109 shots and was a +2 on the season. Additionally, the All-MASCAC Second Team selection notched a team-high six power play goals and squad-best five game-winning markers. For the season, he was a two-time MASCAC Player of the Week honoree. 
 
As a rookie, Stewart appeared in all 26 games, recording a team-high 23 points on a team-best 10 goals with 13 assists. Posting 94 shots, he saw three of his goals come on the power play, while two were game winners.
 
UMass Dartmouth concluded their season with an 11-14-1 overall mark, going 8-9-1 in the MASCAC. The Corsairs were the sixth-seed in the conference tournament, shouldering a loss to third-seeded Salem State in the MASCAC Quarterfinals.
