DARTMOUTH, Mass. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) has announced its 2025 Academic All-District At-Large selections, and four UMass Dartmouth men's ice hockey student-athletes have been honored.
Graham Burke,
Cade Hanley,
Connor Little and
Alex Walker were all tabbed for their outstanding work in the classroom and on the field.
Burke, a junior goaltender from Wilmington, Del., posted a 3.82 cumulative grade point average as a physics major. During the 2024-25 season, he played 17 games for the Corsairs, including 16 as a starter. Burke owned an 8-8-0 overall record, including one shutout, over 947:22 minutes played. He had a 3.17 goals against average and a .920 save percentage, allowing 50 goals with 577 saves made on the season …
Among the highlights of his season was a 38 save effort in a 5-4 overtime victory against Fitchburg State. He also posted a season-high 56 saves in a tough 5-2 loss to UMass Boston in the Codfish Bowl in early January. Burke went on to post 29 stops in a 5-2 win over Rivier, 35 saves in a 4-0 victory against MCLA and recorded 30 shots in a 3-1 victory at Westfield State in the regular season finale.
Hanley, a graduate student captain and defenseman from Bozeman, Montana, was tabbed to his second straight All-District team after posting a 3.60 cumulative GPA while earning his Master of Art Education. Hanley played in all 26 games for the Corsairs, recording seven assists for seven points. He recorded 31 shots and also ranked second on the team in blocked shots with 33.
Highlighting is season was a two-assist effort in a 5-4 overtime win against Fitchburg State in mid-November. Hanley also recorded an assist in a 4-2 win at Framingham State, adding another helper in a 6-3 victory over Fitchburg State in the Codfish Bowl in early January. He added another assist in a 4-1 win against Worcester State and went on to add helpers in victories over Framingham State and MCLA.
Little, a sophomore center from Portsmouth, R.I., posted a 3.95 cumulative GPA as a finance major. Playing in all 26 games for the Corsairs, he recorded six assists for six points. In addition to 31 shots, he also blocked 18 shots on the season.
Highlighting his 2024-25 campaign was an assist in a 4-2 win over Keene State in early November. He went on to add an assist in a 5-4 overtime victory against Fitchburg State November 12, followed by an assist in a 4-2 win at Framingham State a week later. Little went on to have assists against Rivier and MCLA.
Walker, a sophomore winger from Latrobe, Pa., notched a 3.91 cumulative grade point average as a finance major. Playing in all 26 games for the Corsairs, he was third on the team in scoring with 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists. In addition to two power play goals, he also had two game-winning markers. He took 43 shots on the season and also posted five blocked shots.
Among the highlights of his season was a goal and assist in a 3-2 win at Anna Maria in January. He went on to tally the game-winning goal in a 5-2 victory over Rivier on January 18, followed by two goals – including the game-winner – with an assist in a 6-4 win against Framingham State to end the month. Walker scored two goals – one on the power play – with an assist in a tough loss to Anna Maria and closed out the season with an assist in a 3-1 win at Westfield State.
UMass Dartmouth concluded their season with an 11-14-1 overall mark, going 8-9-1 in the MASCAC. The Corsairs were the sixth seed in the conference tournament, shouldering a loss to third-seeded Salem State in the MASCAC Quarterfinals.
