Frazier Scores Equalizer in Draw Against Keene State

KEENE, N.H. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's soccer team tied against Keene State College, 1-1, in Little East Conference (LEC) action on Saturday afternoon from Butcher Field. The Corsairs move to a 0-1-1 record in conference play while the Owls now own a 0-0-2 league record.

First year Natalie Frazier fired the first shot of the game that went wide right of the Owls net in the opening 12 minutes of action, respectively. Shortly after, first year goalkeeper Marina Cassano posted her first save of the afternoon to deny a shot by Allison Kenyon. Keene State got on the scoreboard at the 16:16 mark as Kenyon found the back of the net to put the home side up 1-0 in the first half.

Frazier responded for the Corsairs by ripping a shot on target to force a stop by the Owls goalkeeper Riley Andriski. Both teams exchanged shots as halftime neared with junior captain Adriana Adames and Frazier each producing late shots on frame but Keene State held on to their one-goal lead at the break.

Senior Ashlyn Aguiar started the second half strong for UMass Dartmouth with a low shot towards the bottom right corner that Andriski was able to save. Midway through the half, the Corsairs began to generate attacking momentum outshooting the Owls by a 5-0 margin. In the 78th minute, Adames sent a deep ball to Frazier who spun her defender and drilled a shot near post that squeezed under Andriski to tie the game up at 1-apiece. UMass Dartmouth continued to battle by registering three late shots, but the game concluded in a draw with a final score of 1-1.

Frazier notched her fifth goal of the season after posting a team-high five shots including three on target. Aguiar ended the game wit four total shots featuring on frame while Adames produced two shot attempts in the contest.

In net, Cassano recorded four total saves and allowed just one goal after playing the full 90 minutes for UMass Dartmouth. Andriski also tallied four stops and allowed one goal in net for the Owls.
