PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Little East Conference has announced its weekly honorees in women's volleyball and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete
Olivia Seutter was recognized as the Offensive Player of the Week. It marks the second straight weekly honor for the sophomore opposite, who helped the Corsairs to a 2-2 overall mark last week.
Seutter, who hails from Mesa, Ariz., recorded 42 kills over four matches started last week. Playing in all 12 sets, she added two assists, eight digs and five total blocks on the week. In a 3-0 victory over Worcester State, she posted 13 kills, adding two digs, an assist and two block assists. Seutter went on to post five kills with two digs and an assist in a tough neutral site loss to Hardin-Simmons on Friday. She helped the Corsairs bounce back on Friday evening, dropping 15 kills and no errors on 27 swings for a .556 hitting percentage as UMD defeated Colby-Sawyer in neutral site action.
Seutter also added a block solo and two blocks assists with two digs in the win over the Chargers. She closed out the week with nine kills and two digs as the Corsairs fell at #4 Johns Hopkins on Saturday. For the week, she recorded a team-best 45.0 points.
Last week, Seutter earned her first weekly award of 2025 after posting a team-high 34 kills with just two errors over 77 total attacks. She had a hitting percentage of .416, adding two assists with six digs and four block assists.
The reigning LEC Rookie of the Year, Seutter opened her season with 12 kills and no errors on 27 total swings in a 3-0 win over Nazareth on Friday. She added eight kills with three block assists in a 3-0 victory against Ursinus on Saturday, before adding 14 kills with no assists on 27 swings for an astounding .519 hitting percentage as the Corsairs defeated Suffolk, 3-0. On the weekend, she posted 36.0 total points.
Through four matches this season, Seutter paces the offensive effort for the Corsairs with 76 total kills. She has committed just 17 errors on 191 total attempts for a .309 hitting percentage. In addition to four assists, Seutter has added 14 digs and leads the Corsairs with nine total blocks, including eight block assists. Amongst the Little East leaders, Seutter leads the pack in kills and kills per set average (3.62). She is sixth in the conference in hitting percentage, while ranking first in points (81) and third overall in total points per set (3.86).
UMass Dartmouth returns to action on Tuesday, welcoming Worcester Polytechnic Institute to Tripp Gym for a 6pm match.Â
