WELLESLEY, Mass. - It was an outstanding morning of action for the UMass Dartmouth women's swimming team, opening action at the 2026 Little East Conference Championships. The event, hosted at the Boston Sports Institute, saw the Corsairs advance three into the evening finals. Two student-athletes will compete in the championship finals, while all three in individual action posted personal best times.
Opening the action was rookie
Abby Fernandes, who competed in the 500-yard freestyle. She swam to eighth overall with a personal best time of 5:45.64 - advancing to the evening's championship final which is set to begin around 6:55pm. Next to compete for the Corsairs was junior
Skye Peters, who was in the 50-yard freestyle. She notched a time of 26-64 - a personal best - to finish 12th overall. Peters will compete in the consolation finals, set to begin around 8:06pm.
Senior
Kylie Winer was the final individual swimmer to compete, finishing third overall in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.82. It was not only a personal best, but sends Winer into the championship finals which are likely to begin around 8:20pm.Â
The Corsairs will also compete in two relays for the Friday evening session, including the 200-yard freestyle relay (6:30pm) and the 400-yard medley relay (8:58pm), which will see Winer, Peters, senior
Isabella Gerardi and Fernandes compete.
Evening action at the Little East Championships begins at 6:30pm. More results to come later this evening.
