BOSTON, Mass. – It was a solid day of action for the UMass Dartmouth men's indoor track & field team, who finished ninth of 30 teams at the 2026 Division III New England Championships – hosted at the TRACK at New Balance. The Corsairs compiled 32 points, backed by a victory, five Top-10 finishes and three personal bests.
Leading the way was rookie
Michael Veegh, who became the first Corsair in program history to claim the 600-meter run title at DIII New England's. He posted a personal record time of 1:21.58 to earn the victory.
Junior
Cameron Thompson went on to finish 10th in the Mile with a personal record time of 4:13.57, while classmate
Joseph Stanton was 17th in the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 1:56.73. Sophomore
Zane Gordon was the final individual track finisher, posting 20th overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.11.
In the Distance Medley Relay, the foursome of rookies
Stevie MacLennan and
Edward Yeboah, junior
Zack Shute and senior
Ethan Sylvia combined to take 12th overall in 10:37.38, while the 4x800-meter relay, the group of Yeboah, sophomores
Jack Barbato and
Connor Bruni, along with junior
Tyler Scanlon placed 15th overall with a time of 8:24.12.
The final relay of the night was the 4x400-meter relay as Veegh, sophomores
Bunmi Fabikun and
Daniel Jordan and Gordon combined to place 18th overall with a time of 3:24.28.
In the field events, sophomore
Sean Patrone finished second overall in the high jump with a mark of 2.00 meters (6' 6.75"), while rookie
Ewan McLeod posted the same height of 2.00 meters – a new personal best – to take third overall.
The shot put event was paced by sophomore
Ancil Alexander, who was second overall with a throw of 17.12 meters (56' 2"), while rookie Chalais Saintil posted 16th overall with a mark of 13.87 meters (45' 6.25"). Rounding out the shot put was sophomore
Mickey Valentino, who was 24th overall with a mark of 12.96 meters (42' 6.25").
Rookie
Michael Gama earned 15th overall with a throw of 14.85 meters (48' 8.75") in the weight throw, while classmate
Bryce Kankam and
Anthony Drinkwater each powered their way to 23rd in their events. Kankam posted a mark of 5.84 meters (19' 2") in the long jump, while Drinkwater had a jump of 12.49m (40' 11.75") in the triple jump.
Select members of both the women's and men's squads return to action March 7 at the Tufts National Qualifier Meet in Medford, Mass.
