NEW ORLEANS, La. - The United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their All-Region honorees in men's indoor track & field as 11 UMass Dartmouth student-athletes have been recognized. Sophomores
Ancil Alexander and
Sean Patrone, along with rookie
Ewan McLeod and the 4x400m relay and Distance Medley Relay teams were all recognized. The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
Alexander earned All-Region honors for the fourth time in his career - second indoor - as he finished as the top-ranked shot put competitor in the East Region for 2026. He threw a mark of 17.49 meters (57' 4.75") at the Wheaton Invitational on February 7, breaking the school record and edging into the Top-10 in Division III. Currently, Alexander is ranked eighth overall in the shot put in Division III and will compete in the event at the NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships on Saturday, March 14 at 12pm in Birmingham, Alabama.
Patrone garnered his third All-Region recognition - second indoor - in the high jump, posting a height of 2.02 meters (6' 7.5") to win the event at the Wheaton Invite. The mark was also a personal record for the sophomore, who finished third overall in the East Region and was tied for 32nd overall in NCAA Division III.
McLeod picked up his first regional honor after finishing fifth overall in the East Region with a mark of 2.00 meters (6' 6.75"). He hit his personal best mark at the Division III New England Championships on March 1 as he took third at the meet.
The 4x400-meter relay team comprised of rookies
Michael Veegh and
Daniel Ward, along with sophomores
Daniel Jordan and
Zane Gordon, posted a time of 3:23.14 to finish eighth overall in the East Region. That mark, achieved at the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational at Brandeis on January 17, saw the group finish second overall.
Rounding out the honors was the Distance Medley Relay team of rookies
Stevie MacLennan and
Edward Yeboah, along with junior
Zack Shute and senior
Ethan Sylvia. The group posted a time of 10:37.78 to finish eighth overall in the East Region. The mark was achieved at the DIII New England Championships, which saw a 12th place overall finish.
Following the Indoor National Championships, UMass Dartmouth returns to action on March 21, traveling to Middletown, Conn., to open the 2026 Outdoor season at the J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic at Wesleyan University.
