MEDFORD, MASS. – The UMass Dartmouth men's track & field team concluded action at the Tufts Spring Stampede, seeing a number of outstanding performances on the day.
In the 100-meter dash, rookie
Shemar Dillon posted 15th overall with a mark of 11.29. Sophomore
Daniel Jordan was 25th overall in 11.40, while sophomore
Maddox Dupre was 33rd in 11.49. Rookies

Carlos Cruz and sophomore
Kevin Ayala placed 38th (11.59), 39th (11.60) and 40th (11.61), respectively. Rookie
Ethaniel Noncent was 43rd with a time of 11.75, while
Devin Nieves (11.99; 49th),
Marcus Pires (12.00; 51st),
Dylan Njika (12.08; 52nd) and
Karens Antoine (12.38; 58th).
The 200-meters saw Jordan place 13th overall in 22.38, while in the 400-meters, sophomore
Zane Gordon posted second overall with a D3 New England Provisional Qualifying mark of 50.39. Rookie
Carlens Elas posted 10th in 51.69, while classmate
Edward Yeboah was 13th in 52.09.
Sophomore
Bunmi Fabikun was 19th overall in 52.96 as rookie
Jaiden Cohall was 20th in 53.06. Junior
RJ Stone finished 24th in 53.76 as rookie
Trevor Godfrey was 30th in 56.02. The 800-meters saw junior
Joseph Stanton earn 13th overall in 1:57.93, while classmate
Zack Shute was 25th in 2:00.70.
Rookie
Michael Veegh and junior
Tyler Scanlon placed 32nd (2:05.92) and 33rd (2:06.22), respectively, while sophomore
Isaac Toweh (2:13.46) and
Ben Bairos (2:16.06) posted 42nd and 43rd.
The 110-meter hurdles saw rookie
Jayden Francois place 10th overall in 16.30, while Antoine was 19th in 17.97. Francois went on to place 12th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.15 – which is a D3 New England Provisional Qualifying mark. Sophomore
Daniel Ward was 23rd in 1:02.41.
Into the field events, the Corsairs saw sophomore
Sean Patrone, senior
Vincenzo Videtta and rookie
Ewan McLeod placed 3-4-5 in the high jump as both Patrone and Videtta posted a mark of 1.97 meters (6' 5.5"). It was another D3 New England Automatic Qualifying mark and another for McLeod as well as he hit a 1.92 meter jump (6' 3.5").
The long jump saw Kankam place sixth overall with a distance of 6.42 meters (21' 9.75) and sophomore
Ancil Alexander claimed victory in the shot put once again. He posted a winning throw of 16.34 meters (53' 7.5"), while rookie Chalais Saintil was fifth overall 13.95 meters (45' 9.25"). Sophomore
Kevin Saenz was 13th with a throw of 12.45 meters (40' 10.25").
Rookie
Dan McCarthy was 15th in 12.40 meters (40' 8.25"), while in the discus throw, Alexander was the victor once again. He won with a throw 52.52 meters (172' 4"), while Saintil was fifth overall with a mark of 41.14 meters (135' 0"). Saenz was next with a mark of 37.08 meters (121' 8") for 13th, while McCarthy was 16th in 34.85 meters (114' 4").
The hammer throw saw senior
Joseph Uwanogho place second with a season's best and D3 New England Automatic Qualifying mark of 52.65 meters (172' 9"). Rookie
Michael Gama was third with a personal best and D3 New England Automatic Qualifying throw of 50.18 meters (164' 7").
Alexander took eighth overall in the hammer with a mark of 47.99 meters (157' 1") as classmate
Mickey Valentino posted ninth in 45.52 meters (149' 4"). Both were D3 New England Provisional Qualifying marks. Rookie Michael Precious also finished well in 16th overall with a mark of 40.07 meters (131' 5").
UMass Dartmouth returns to action this week on April 17, traveling to Bridgewater State to compete at the Bears Invitational. Action kicks off at 11am.
