PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference has announced its major award winners in women's lacrosse and UMass Dartmouth student-athlete
Keira Bushey has been recognized. The sophomore was named the 2026 Little East Goalkeeper of the Year, becoming the first Corsair in program history to earn the honor – which was established by the conference in 2023.
The goalie was also an All-LEC First Team honoree – marking the first career All-Conference – in addition to the first year-end honor for the sophomore.
Bushey, a native of Haverhill, Mass., started all 17 games for the Corsairs this season. In 912:51 minutes of action, she recorded 186 saves with a .457 save percentage. She went 4-12 on the season for UMass Dartmouth, recording double-figure save totals in eight of 17 games, including a career-high 20 in a narrow 11-6 loss to Vermont State University Castleton on April 11.
The sophomore opened the season with an 18-save performance against Wheaton College. She posted a six-save effort in a 14-6 win over Maine Maritime on March 7 before repeating the effort on March 11 with six stops in an 18-6 victory over Mass. Maritime. Bushey posted nine stops in a 21-10 victory against Regis and made three saves in a 13-4 conference win at Rhode Island College on April 22.
Nationally, Bushey ranks eighth overall in Division III in total saves and is 16th in saves per game with a 10.94 average. Amongst the Little East's best, Bushey currently leads the conference in saves per game, ranking fourth in save percentage and 11th in goals against average with a 14.53 clip.
During her rookie season, Bushey started all 18 games for UMass Dartmouth, owning a 9-9 overall record and a 3-5 conference record in net. She produced 172 total saves on 547 shots faced for a .441 save percentage. Bushey had 12.07 goals against average on the season and led the Little East in saves per game (9.56) and ranked second overall in total saves. She also owned the fourth-best save percentage in the conference.
UMass Dartmouth concluded its 2026 season with a 4-13 overall mark. The Corsairs went 1-7 in the Little East.
