Men's Track & Field Wraps-Up Action at F.I.R.E Meet

Solid performances pace Corsairs on final day at Williams College

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Behind several solid performances, the UMass Dartmouth men's outdoor track & field team wrapped up action at the 2026 F.I.R.E. Meet at Williams College. The Corsairs were paced by another victory from sophomore Ancil Alexander, who won the shot put for the seventh straight meet this outdoor season.
 
In the track events, the Corsairs saw junior Justin Andrade place 12th overall in the 100-meter dash with a mark of 11.09. The 1500-meters saw junior Cameron Thompson post 30th overall in 4:02.76, while classmate James Carriere was 49th overall in 4:15.00.
 
Next up, the 4x100-meter relay – comprised of Andrade, sophomores Daniel Jordan and Zane Gordon, along with rookie Shemar Dillon – finished eighth overall with a mark of 42.97. In the 800-meter run, rookie Edward Yeboah posted a time of 2:01.07 for 62nd overall, while junior Zack Shute was 65th with a mark of 2:01.47.
 
In the 400-meter hurdles, rookie Jayden Francois ran to fifth overall with a time of 55.06, while the 200-meter dash was paced by Jordan as he finished 11th with a mark of 22.38. Gordon ran to 19th overall in 22.98 to complete the field in the 200m.
 
The field events saw sophomore Ancil Alexander claim victory in the shot put, recording a season's best mark of 16.77 meters (55' 0.25"), while rookie Chalais Saintil was 14th overall with a throw of 13.07 meters (42' 10.5").
 
The hammer throw saw senior Joseph Uwanogho finished sixth overall with a distance of 53.00 meters (173' 11") as the Corsairs saw sophomore Sean Patrone and senior Vincenzo Videtta go 5-6 in the high jump. Patrone took fifth with a mark of 1.96 meters (6' 5"), while Videtta posted sixth with a height of 1.91 meters (6' 3.25").
 
In Friday's action, junior Ethan Sylvia and senior Colin Ozturk both recorded personal best marks in the 5,000-meters with Sylvia placing 44th with a time of 15:29.14. Ozturk was close behind in 48th with a mark of 15:35.65. The discus throw saw Alexander claim victory with a mark of 53.73 meters (176' 3"), while Saintil was sixth with a throw of 46.10 meters (151' 3").
 
The Corsairs will see select individuals from both squads compete at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday beginning at 4pm in Cambridge.
