Six from Women's Cross Country and Track & Field tabbed to CSC Academic All-District Team

Six Garner Academic All-District Honors in Women's XC/Track & Field

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their honorees for Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-District and six UMass Dartmouth student-athletes were recognized. Graduate student Emily Philbrook, seniors Tori Schweitzer and Grace Russell, juniors Serena Carnes and Emily Hesketh, along with sophomore Olivia Seutter were all honored.
 
Philbrook, who hails from Penacook, N.H., owned a 3.83 cumulative grade point average while earning her Juris Doctorate (Law). She had another outstanding season for the Corsairs in track & field, finishing in the top 36 in multiple events for both indoor and outdoor.
 
During the indoor campaign, she ranked 36th in the region in the 5,000-meters with a time of 19:12.37 – achieving the mark at the Terrier Classic. In the outdoor season, Philbrook ranked 23rd in the Northeast Region in the 10,000-meters, posting a time of 39:18.11 to win the title at the 2026 Division III New England Championship. Additionally, Philbrook took home Second Team honors at the LEC Outdoor Meet, finishing second overall in the 10,000 with a time of 39:23.31.
 
Schweitzer, a native of Ledyard, Conn., posted a 3.61 cumulative grade point average as an Interior Architecture major. As a captain on the cross country team, Schweitzer competed in eight meets for the Corsairs. Highlighting the season was a collegiate-best performance in the 6k at the Little East Championship – powering her way to 24th overall with a time of 23:37.7. It was a strong indoor track & field campaign for Schweitzer as well, ranking in the Top-43 in the Northeast Region in three events.
 
Individually, she was 43rd in the 800-meters with a time of 2:26.94 at the Gordon Kelly Invite. She also helped the Corsairs Distance Medley Relay to eighth regionally with a time of 13:06.93 – a time achieved at the DIII New England Championships. That effort earned the foursome USTFCCCA All-Region recognition.  She also helped the 4x400-meter relay to 21st in the region with a mark of 4:26.28 – set at the Little East Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, Schweitzer earned All-Conference Third Team honors at the Little East Outdoor Championships, helping the 4x800-meter relay to third overall in 10:13.45.
 
Russell, who is a native of Bourne, Mass., recorded a 3.69 cumulative GPA as a Biology major. A captain for both track & field squads, she had another strong effort in her senior season – ranking in the Top-40 for three events. During the indoor season, she helped the DMR to eighth overall in the Northeast Region. She was a USTFCCCA All-Region honoree for her efforts in the DMR.
 
Additionally, Russell was a part of the 4x400-meter relay at LEC's that achieved 21st in the region with a mark of 4:26.28. During the outdoor campaign, Russell was 38th in the Northeast in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:10.88, which she achieved at the Bridgewater State Invitational.
 
Carnes, who hails from Dartmouth, Mass., owns a 3.99 cumulative grade point average as a Biology major. A captain on the cross country team, she competed in seven meets for the Corsairs in 2025. Among the highlights included a collegiate-best time of 26:05.8 in the 6k at the Conn College Invitational.
 
During the track and field season, Carnes was among the Top-50 in the Northeast Region in both the indoor and outdoor campaigns. In the indoor season, Carnes was 50th in the 5,000-meters with a mark of 19:39.53 – which she achieved at the Little East Championships. She went on to earn 43rd in the region during the 10,000-meters outdoor, posting a mark of 41:49.08 at the Tufts Sunshine Classic.
 
Hesketh, a native of Kingston, Mass., has a 3.66 cumulative grade point average as a Bioengineering major. A captain for both the indoor and outdoor track & field teams, she had a number of outstanding efforts across three different events in 2026 – ranking in the Top-24 in the region. During the indoor season, Hesketh was 14th in the Northeast in the weight throw with a mark of 14.59 meters (47' 10.5") – which she achieved at the Little East Championships to garner All-LEC Second Team.
 
During the outdoor season, Hesketh was 10th in the Northeast Region in the hammer throw, posting a top mark of 46.61 meters (152' 11") at the Corsair Classic. She went on to finish 24th in the region in the discus throw with a mark of 33.84 meters (109' 4") – achieved at the Wesleyan J. Elmer Swanson Invitational.
Seutter, who hails from Mesa, Ariz., owns a 3.55 cumulative GPA as a Crime & Justice Studies major. It was another strong campaign for Seutter, who ranked in the Top-17 across three events during the track & field season. The indoor season saw Seutter rank 17th in the Northeast Region in the shot put with a throw of 11.42 meters (37' 5.75") – which she hit at the Little East Indoor Meet.
 
During the outdoor season, Seutter ranked fourth in the Northeast in the discus throw with a mark of 40.26 meters (132' 1"), which earned her All-LEC Third Team honors, along with USTFCCCA All-Region recognition at season's end. She was also 17th in the region in the shot put during outdoor, finishing with a top throw of 11.13 meters (36' 6.25").
 
The UMass Dartmouth women's track & field team finished sixth overall at the Little East Indoor Championships, before posting fifth overall at the outdoor meet. The Corsairs also placed 22nd overall at the 2026 DIII New England Outdoor Championships. UMD's cross country team finished third overall at the Little East Championship before taking 13th overall at the NCAA East Regionals meet – posting a program-best finish.
