Coast Guard Sails Past Women's Soccer, 3-1

The Basics

Score: Coast Guard 3, UMass Dartmouth 1
Records:
Coast Guard (5-5-4) | UMass Dartmouth (4-8-2)

How it Happened

Coast Guard got the scoring started in the 24th minute of action, when sophomore Janissa Arzie (Chugiak, Alaska) chipped the ball over UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper Madison Boucher (Southampton, Conn.) and senior Katie Clark (Sacramento, Calif.) won the foot race to the ball to put the Bears up 1-0.

UMass Dartmouth would tie the game up just four minutes later, as junior Abby Silva (Fall River, Mass.) found Woehl, who beat Coast Guard's Rachel Boohar between the legs.

The even score wouldn't last long, as Brianna Grisell (Brookfield, Conn.) floated the left-footed shot from 20 yards out, taking the 2-1 advantage two minutes later. The Bears would tack on another goal in the second half of play when freshman Claire Hurley (Waterford, Conn.) rifled a shot, glancing off Becca Field's (Brentwood, N.H.) hands.
