DARTMOUTH, Mass. — University of Massachusetts Dartmouth junior
Kaitlyn Bernier (Dartmouth, Mass.) won the 400-meter dash and placed third in the 200-meter dash to highlight the Corsairs performance in a duel meet with Worcester Polytechnic Institute this afternoon.
Bernier accounted for six of UMass Dartmouth's 12 team points with her first and third place showings. The junior from Dartmouth, Mass. crossed the finish line in one minute, 2.06 seconds to defeat the eight-person field in the 400-meter dash. She also posted a third-place time of 27.29 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Bernier sports the fastest time in the Little East Conference in the 400-meter dash, while ranking second on the conference's performance list in the 200.

Allison Leal (Lincoln, R.I.) earned a team point by finishing third in the 800-meter run with a time of three minutes, 13.21 seconds. Senior
Taylor Walsh (Groveland, Mass.) registered a third-place result in the 400-meter dash, tripping the timer at one minute, 4.00 seconds. Junior
Alexa Van Voorhis (Raynham, Mass.) also placed third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:31.13.

Kristin Slowinski (Colrain, Mass.) led the Corsairs in the field events with three top-five results. She was third in the shot put (10.41m) and hammer throw (30.33m), while placing fifth in the discus (26.54m). First-year
Amanda Little (Pembroke, Mass.) registered a third-place mark in the discus (32.29m) and eighth in the shot put (9.59m).
UMass Dartmouth returns to action at 10am on Saturday, April 10, when the Corsairs host Babson College.
