Women's Track & Field Posts Solid Finish at New England DIII Meet

Corsairs finish 22nd of 39 competing teams

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's track & field team concluded action at the 2026 New England Division III Championships on Saturday on the campus of Springfield College. Aided by a number of strong performances, the Corsairs finished 22nd overall in the field of 39 teams.
 
In the discus throw, sophomore Olivia Seutter posted 15th overall with a throw of 35.43 meters (116' 3"), while the shot put saw rookie Kearston Nelson post 17th overall with a distance of 11.10 meters (36' 5").
 
The final action of the day for the Corsairs women's squad came in the relays, beginning with the 4x800-meter relay as senior Tori Schweitzer, sophomores Ashlyn Byrnes and Sara Lopez, along with junior Sarah Lynch combined for a time of 10:01.25 to finish eighth overall.
 
In the 4x400-meter relay, seniors Grace Russell and Isabella Taccogna, along with rookies Kiki Melick and Kiariana Williams placed 15th overall with a mark of 4:20.31.
 
Several members of the Corsairs' women's team will return to action next weekend at the Williams FIRE meet. Action begins on Friday at 4pm, continuing on Saturday with a 10am start.
