| By:
Box Score DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Powered by a 15-point on 70% shooting night from senior Teja Andrews, the UMass Dartmouth women's basketball team edged UMass Boston for a 62-44 win in Little East action on Tuesday at the Tripp Athletic Center. The win saw the Corsairs move to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in the LEC. The Beacons are now 3-10 with a 1-5 mark in conference play.

Holding a 31-23 lead after the opening two quarters of play, the Corsairs came into the third with an intensity on defense that helped them extend their lead early in the second half. UMass Dartmouth limited the Beacons to just four points for the entirety of the third quarter. The Corsairs won the quarter 16-4, getting out to a comfortable 47-27 lead at the end of the third quarter. The senior duo of Andrews and Kaylin Zalewski combined for eight points during that stretch.

With a large lead in the fourth quarter, head coach Matt Ducharme put in his reserves who helped the Corsairs coast to an 18-point home victory. The UMass Dartmouth bench out-scored UMass Boston's, 25-11, as the Corsairs went on to a 62-44 victory in their fourth Little East Conference win this season.

UMass Boston, paced throughout by Keriann Farina, saw the grad student guard score 14 points with five rebounds. She went a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Farina was backed by fellow grad student Paige Ollivierre, who scored nine an added five rebounds of her own. Ollivierre also had a perfect day from the charity stripe, going 3 for 3.

UMass Dartmouth was paced by Andrews, who recorded a game-high 15 points with six rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot. Andrews went 7 for 10 from the field (70.0%). No other Corsairs scored in double-figures, but seven players tallied at least six points, including eight from junior Amaris Mills and seven from both Zalewski and sophomore Melanie DeMeo. Senior Jaelyn Lavigne's impact on the glass was felt, leading the team with nine boards.

The Corsairs return to action on Saturday, welcoming Southern Maine to the Tripp Athletic Center for a 1pm LEC game against the Huskies.
